Hi Everyone,
I am a little late to the party, but work has been overwhelming, and I haven’t been as prepared as I wanted to be over the past couple of weeks. My name is Nikayla Ramsey; you can call me Kayla. I’m located in Ellenwood, GA, right outside of Atlanta., I have been in GA for the past few years, and I am enjoying my settlement here. I ultimately work with children on the autism spectrum, and I am also a retired veteran. I enjoy working with kids and hope someday to become an LCSW as well as a BCBA. Bo h working in the firled with chidlren and fmailes, and ebventually openibg my own clinic.
In my professional life, technology is all around me. From work to home, I have been giving myself a break from technology during certain hours of the day and making sure to stay off after a specific time at night, which includes all electronic devices. See technology to collect data, write notes, and, of course, to communicate. My primary use of AI technology is to assist with my brainstorming. With so many different things going on, there is always so much on my mind daily. I now know that most people don’t like AI, but if you use it correctly, it can be beneficial and help alleviate some stress.
I believe that technology can only show positive measures in social work. For being able to formulate sessions, help with communication, and process appointments, etc. That’s just surface-level evil. Social work has been around for many years, and the theory of social work has become significant. Technology can help advance it. This is my thought, which is why I decided to take this course. To gain more knowledge on technology and social work.
Thank you all for letting me share this hope and for allowing me to hear back!
Kayla,
Thank you for sharing your experiences and how you use technology – or don’t when you take a break. We will be talking a lot about AI and other technology that is infusing social work practice.
FYI – don’t forget to include a photo in the featured photo section of your posts. Images speak stronger than words sometimes. The idea is to post an image you think best represents your points in your post. Place the image in the featured image section – at the very bottom on the right side of the post editing page.
Looking forward to more conversations.
