Welcome to the Technology and Social Work Practice Website
I decided it might be helpful to create a website for our class. We will still have the majority of the content for the class located in iCollege, and, as usual, your grades will be located there. But we are also writing blog posts and commenting on each other’s writing. That’s why I wanted to add just a bit more to this site than just a blog. You will find three important resources here.
First, this is where you sign up for the blog itself, by using the register button/blurb on the side. This is also where you will find the link to write you new blog post. When you click this icon, you will go to the sign in page. Once you have signed in, you will be taken directly to the post editing page in our WordPress blog.
Second, there is a digital syllabus for your use. I have placed information there that is often the most important to your success in this course and frequently what you look for the most. The term digital syllabus sounds fancy and grandiose, but it basically refers to a web page that outlines the major elements of the course, such as the schedule, assignments and grading criteria. I also include detailed information about the three types of assignments you will be completing. More to come on that.
Third, you will find our class blog. There is a blog tab in the menu bar, as well as a page for each of the blog assignments you will write. That means that the blogs will be organized by assignments. There is a short video about how the blog works on the Blog page itself.
It’s my hope that this site will give you enough information that you can get started quickly in this class. My goal is to give you a simple explanations of the components of this class. The specific assignments and other links will still be in iCollege. As always – if you have any questions you can reach out to me either by email (mp*******@*su.edu) or phone 404-788-8232. Welcome and I look forward to the wonderful discussions we will have about technology and social work practice.
